TEC is looking for a Junior Warehouse Assistant

Part Time or Full Time options available

An exciting opportunity has developed for a warehouse assistant to join Australia’s leader in architectural and large-scale projection mapping. The Electric Canvas is looking for enthusiastic applicants who are interested in kick-starting their career with an award-winning and internationally recognised specialist within the public events and entertainment sectors.

The Junior Warehouse Assistant is an entry-level position for which no previous experience is required. This is an ideal role for a recent school leaver or young person who has a keen interest in working within the audiovisual or events industry. It may also be an excellent opportunity for a student in Live Production / Technical Services looking for part-time work that could evolve into a full-time role.

Working in our Chatswood workshop, under the supervision of our National Operations Manager, you’ll experience many aspects of what it takes for the technical and logistical delivery of our projects, whilst gaining experience in working with state-of-the-art projection equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • General warehouse organisation
  • Assisting with equipment preparation for outgoing projects
  • Assisting with equipment “de-prep” from incoming jobs
  • Basic woodwork and/or metal work
  • Loading and unloading vehicles

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Be punctual and reliable
  • Be motivated to learn new tasks and take instruction well
  • Enjoy manual labour and be willing to “get their hands dirty”
  • Work well as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Possess sound mechanical aptitude
  • Hold a current NSW driver’s license
  • Have good computer skills

Existing qualifications (forklift license, elevated work platform ticket, etc.) would be an advantage; however, training to obtain these credentials will be made available to the right candidate.

The Electric Canvas will provide the successful applicant with an above-award salary and the opportunity to learn about the creative and unique discipline of projection mapping. Career progression and the chance to develop into a key team member will be afforded to the right person.

Please note:  Due to the high volume of applicants, only successful candidates will be contacted. Applicants must have permanent legal rights to work in Australia and may be required to travel both interstate and overseas from time to time.
