We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time Senior Motion Designer to join our team at The Electric Canvas in our Sydney studio.
We are a pioneer in large-scale architectural projection and mapping, providing complete creative and technical solutions and delivery throughout Australia and internationally.
Our inhouse pipeline includes developing content for a variety of architectural projection events from concept to delivery. You will have an artistic approach to your work and the ability to visualise ideas and test design concepts quickly. Working alongside our talented illustrators, 2D/3D animators and motion graphics designers, you will be a strong team leader, contributing to After Effects projects and overseeing the projects of others. Your role will include collaboration with our technical production personnel to ensure smooth end-to-end work-flows and optimised project outcomes.
Role Objectives
- Compositing long format and large resolution content
- Motion graphics design and concept development
- Project management
- Collaboration with other artists and members of the production team
Requirements
- Considerable industry experience
- Advanced After Effects including compositing, large resolution project management, and asset management
- Experience overseeing AE projects in a team environment
- Strong conceptual design skills
- Sound experience with 3D software and third-party renderers (preferably Cinema4D and Redshift)
- An eye for detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to remain focused under tight deadlines
- A knowledge of, or interest in architecture is desirable
- Understanding and experience with musical structure and timing
Although we are looking for an experienced person, projection mapping is a unique field with unique workflows and variables. On-the-job training and support will be provided to bring you up to speed with our numerous bespoke workflows. There is ample opportunity to expand your toolset, and experience a number of disciplines.
