The playing surfaces of sporting fields become enormous screens using multiple large-format projectors. Proprietary 3D modelling is used to create high-quality panoramas that cover many thousands of square metres at television brightness levels.

Description: Our OnlyView System controlled and delivered six synchronised sources of video content for the 2007 Singapore National Day event at Marina Bay. The main display elements where two large LED screens that, at times, carried separate playback images and were also used for live camera close-ups of the show.

Description: Build a swimming pool in a tennis arena? This was just one initiative required to stage the 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne – as was the use of the Onlyview System to provide video playback and live vision to various display devices used for the opening ceremony and on the competition days.

Description: For the pre-match Opening Ceremony of the 2006 Gulf Cup, The Electric Canvas crane mounted twelve projectors onto the roof of Zayed Stadium in Abu Dabhi. The ceremony, which featured a sixty five metre circular area of PIGI projection, was created with a limited lead time leaving a restricted opportunity for an accurate site survey, and a short turn around time for film production. With a crew assembled from both France and Australia, The Electric Canvas enjoyed a smooth and successful show.

International Tourism Festival view page >>

Description: The International Tourism Festival’s Opening Ceremony at Wuxi Stadium incorporated cultural images projected into various shapes design into the massive stage set. The Closing Ceremony at Jiangyin was an indoor event for which The Electric Canvas used PIGI projection to create textural scenic imagery that was projected onto a three-dimensional white stage setting.

Description: The EAG05 Opening Ceremony was an international event viewed by some 700 million people across Asia. The Electric Canvas was the sole foreign contractor providing projection covering large areas of the stadium floor and onto a large inflatable sphere.

Description: Fourteen 6kw rotating double scroller PIGI projectors directed at ground cloth on stadium playing field. Projections from elevated positions to produce a combined image area of 100m x 60m (300? x 180?). Projectors rigged from motorised trusses 36m (110?) above ground level. Projectors not accessible from ground after installation. Projector layout determined by using laser survey and 3D CAD. Photographic and graphic imagery including kinetic and rotational effects.

Description: The Electric Canvas was asked to project onto the ten vertical sides of the Geodome globe as well as onto the multi-leaf flat stage mode. Access to the stadium for testing and final set up was not possible until midnight before the show. All testing, programming and rehearsals, therefore, had to take place off-site.
