  • Peter Milne

    Peter Milne - Projection Designer, Technical Director

    Peter Milne is the driving force behind The Electric Canvas, which he founded in 1997. The Electric Canvas pioneered the use of large format scrolling projection in Australia utilizing the French PIGI system to project colour and imagery onto buildings, screens and structures of all shapes and sizes. Under Peter’s vision the company has gone from strength to strength and has recently expanded into large-scale video projection.

    Peter is one of Australia's most experienced event technical directors. He has been responsible for technical and production coordination for many complex events and has worked throughout the world including Singapore, Malaysia, China, Macau, Hong Kong, U.A.E, Qatar, Taiwan, England, U.S.A., Japan, Fiji, New Zealand, and Switzerland.

    With a background in lighting design and production management, Peter has worked in almost all areas of the entertainment and production industries.  He has extensive experience in a number of disciplines including lighting, sound, staging and set design, audio-visual, broadcast and project management as well as acting as a consultant to a number of venues and architects.  

    Peter has overseen large scale projections throughout the world. Notable events include the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games, various Singapore National Day spectaculars, East Asian Games Opening in Macau, Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Ceremonies, 2006 Asian Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Doha, The Gulf Football Cup Opening, Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts, Sydney Harbour Bridge projections, The Man from Snowy River Arena Spectacular, Australian Outback Spectacular, Singapore Night Festival, as well as numerous corporate and theatre productions.

  • Nicholas Tory - Artist and Designer

    Nick joined The Electric Canvas in January 2009 and brings with him 10 years of experience in the Arts, Film, Media and Advertising industries as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and Digital artist across a wide range of media. 

    With a Visual Arts degree in Electronic Arts at Sydney College of the Arts, Nick has worked with a variety of world-class clients on a broad range of cultural and arts projects including Hollywood feature films and large scale events. Highlights include the Asian Games Doha, Qatar 2006, Back O’Bourke Museum and Cultural Centre, World Youth Day 2008, Superman Returns, Star Wars Episode III, as well as all three Matrix films.


  • Jamil Yamani - Video Artist and Designer

    Jamil Yamani was originally apprenticed to Professor Ernst Fuchs, in Vienna, Austria as a painter. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours First Class and a Masters of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. Jamil’s major was in Video Art, binding technology with a special interest in social phenomena.

    Jamil has had a number of solo exhibitions, his work has been shown nationally and internationally.


    Since joining The Electric Canvas Jamil has worked on such notable projects as Northern Lights for the Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts, Night Lights Festival in Singapore, Sydney Harbour Bridge projections for the FIFA Congress, World Youth Day and City of Sydney New Years Eve Celebrations.

    Jamil brings his extensive video and animation skills and experience to the art team at The Electric Canvas.


  • Glenn Williams - Chief Technician

    Glenn has worked in the entertainment and event industry for over 20 years, specialising in Lighting and Projection. Glenn has toured with the likes of Bon Jovi, Harry Connick jr, The Eagles, Tracey Chapman, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many others. His theatre credits include Grease- The Arena Spectacular, Carmen in the Round, The Great China Circus and the Bolshoi and the Kirov Ballets.

    Glenn has been with The Electric Canvas for 9 years as chief technician and has worked on almost every one of our projects. His expertise and skills in projection and with PIGI technology makes him an invaluable part of the team. As well as managing the technical crew, Glenn also provides training to freelance technicians in thehighly specialised craft of PIGI projection.

  • Philip Pieridis - Chief Video Technician

    Phil qualified from Middlesex University with a Bachelor of Engineering Audio Arts & Electronics. It was while completing his studies and whilst freelancing for various production companies, that Phil discovered his interest in visual display and projection for live events, theatre and TV.

    Some of Phil’s event and theatre experience includes, “Fete des Lumières” Lyon France, Festival De Cannes, Mary Poppins the Musical, MTV Europe Music Awards 2005, 858th Anniversary of Moscow, London’s Olympic Bid, the Kirov Ballet and the ZTV Bollywood Film Awards. Phil has extensive touring experience on the concert circuit with the likes of Madonna, Faithless, Razorlight and The Killers. He has amassed extensive experience in both PIGI and video projection as well as in the use of the OnlyView media control and server system.

    Phil first started working with The Electric Canvas as a freelance PIGI Technician in 2007 for the China Intercity Games Opening Ceremony and after a number of projects working with us decided to relocate to Australia to take up a full time position as senior video technician and OnlyView programmer.

  • Stephen Paul - Onlyview, PIGI and IT technician

    Stephen’s early career involved working as an IT Consultant and a Retail Store Manager in the electronics sector. These interests coupled with a desire to work in the events and entertainment industry lead him to complete an Advanced Diploma of Live Production, Theatre and Events.

    Stephen joined The Electric Canvas in January 2007 and was immediately sent to the middle east to work on the Gulf Cup Opening Ceremony in Abu Dhabi. As well as learning the intricacies of PIGI Projection, Stephen’s main focus has been on the OnlyView system and video projection. Since starting with The Electric Canvas, Stephen has had the opportunity to work with some of Europe’s most experienced and talented OnlyView technicians and as a result of this, his knowledge and skills have grown and developed.

  • Diana Golden - Admin Manager - PA to the MD

    After studying for a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Theatre) at the University of Southern Queensland, Diana has worked across the arts, hospitality and event industries for the past 15 years. While working for diverse organisations such as Metro Arts, Grin & Tonic Theatre Troupe, Conrad Casino, Hilton Hotel, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and David Atkins Enterprises, Diana has taken on roles that have covered event operations, sales and coordination, contract management, administration and logistics.

    Diana started with The Electric Canvas in March 2007 after returning to Australia from working on the Opening & Closing Ceremonies of the 15th Asian Games in Qatar. Since joining the team, Diana has learnt more about international freight and travel than she ever dreamt possible, getting crew and equipment safely to and from countries such as China, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, New Caledonia and New Zealand.

  • Eric Guo - Chinese Export Manager, Accounts administrator

    Eric completed his Bachelor of Business in transportation and logistics in Shanghai China in 2002, he continued his post-graduate education in Macquarie University in Sydney and he was conferred with double master degrees in International Business and International Communications in 2004. He went on to complete Master of professional accounting in University of Western Sydney in 2006. He is currently a candidate in a Chartered Accountant Program.

    Eric started working with The Electric Canvas as an intern in August 2004 to assist the managing director to communicate with Chinese clients and develop the Chinese Market. After three months Eric became a permanent staff member at The Electric Canvas. Eric has worked on the East Asian Games, ITF China, China Intercity Games, Fendi Beijing. In February 2006 Eric took over company's day-to-day accounting work.
